When you have a 7pm reservation, you never know whether it is accurate or not, but Gulliver's had this down. Despite the restaurant being full, service was wonderful and noise level hardly noticeable. The food was served very hot despite having various food orders...pork chop, shrimp, lamb shank, duck, prime rib with authentic Yorkshire pudding and more. All very tasty and cooked appropriately. The creamed corn was a nice surprise and was served to everyone. Never felt rushed despite the full house. Great place to go to if meeting someone or picking up at the John Wayne Airport. Atmospehere is good for family or business gathering. We will definitely bbaq.
Regrettably, in our opinion, Gulliver's has lost a step over the years. We've eaten here for decades and in the last few visits, the food quality had gone down, the dessert options simplified to average at best, and the overall experience fair, especially for the price. Had it not been for the company we had, we would lower the rating. Of the many restaurants in Orange County, especially for the cost, we'll likely pick another locale to meet our friends in the future. Three service, however, was great!
Dinner here our last night of vacation and it was great. Great service, appetizers, drinks, and meal. The prime rib was delicious, with great sides. The breads were fantastic. Overall a great night out.
Old world English decor and the staff are dressed in traditional costumes. The menu is similar in theme. Prime rib with creamed corn comes in very generous portions. Food isn't fancy but it tastes like it has been prepared with care. Broccoli was perfect and truffle mashed potatoes were exceptional. This restaurant has been around for a long time and they haven't lost their touch. Especially during holidays, they went all out with Christmas decorations and feels like you're in Santa's dinning room.
The restaurant was packed so we decided to eat in the bar. We had a lovely table with excellent service. The meal was perfect and very satisfying. It was my birthday and I really enjoyed myself. I recommend signing up for your birthday deal you get $15 coupon for your birthday meal. Thank you so much to Gulliver's for making my birthday special.
