Lovely staff, excellent prices and very good atmosphere

If I could've given this zero stars I would have. My mum went for a cut and blow dry to Ruth's as our usual hairdresser couldn't come and we had a party to go to and mum badly needed her hair done. It was the owner herself that did mums hair but unfortunately during the cut she actually cut mums right ear and didn't say a thing about it and continued on. Mum didn't feel much when this happened as due to an operation last year the nerves in this area were damaged leaving her with virtually no feeling in her ear. Mum's friend who took her to the hairdressers mentioned the fact there was blood running down her ear and over her hair (naturally white hair) so very easily seen. To which Ruth tried to cover up her mistake by saying mum must've just scratched her ear causing it to bleed. Mums friend looked at her ear and said she could clearly see it was a scissor mark and not a scratch but again Ruth denied anything was wrong and tried to carry on but there was a fair bit of blood by this point so she had to stop. My mum takes aspirin for a heart condition so this makes her blood thin. Ruth eventually put a plaster on it but still denied she had done anything. Mum said she felt like she had been fairly rude to her and her friend when she tried to question it. The salon was busy and other customers were staring so mum let her finish and paid then left. No mention of anything being put in the accident book but then Ruth apparently didn't do anything so why would there be. Needless to say when she came home and told me I took the plaster off and there was definitely a scissor mark and not a scratch. If Ruth had owned up to what had happened I don't think anyone would have bothered as we all know accidents can happen but the complete lack of anything but denial from her is quite frankly out of order and mum will never be back in her salon. Ruth maybe a hairdresser and has done the job for a number of years but hairdressers in town are now ten a penny and fortunately there's a lot more of them with better empathy and compassion and not forgetting better customer service skills...

Salon standards at affordable cost. Girlfriend loves it.

Ruth cut 12 inches off my mop for The Princess Trust and donated to the cause. Made my first time short hair do look fab, also maintaining cuts for me to grow out and donate again! Recommend booking due to how busy the ladies always are but they are flexible and accommodating to drop in too.

Fantastic staff always do a great job of my hair .and they find the time to chat even when they are run of there feet .would not go anywhere else x
