Definately not designed for the working person. Some of us cant phone at that time or if i manage to I work in a call centre and cant answer my phone when doc phones back. Most frustrating as I rarely go to doc. Prescription system not great. Automated service which is fine and advises collect in two days. Went to collect and was told Doc had to see me first, why couldnt they phone and tell me this before i drove out to collect it. Then to be told they couldnt make me an appointment I would need to phone in the morning!! Why, the doc asked to see me, why couldnt they just put an appointment on. When I do see any docs or nurses, they are lovely but this system needs reviewed
Doctors is fine but to get to the doctors nearly mission impossible. You have to ring every day.But if you are working??If you have kids to take to school?? . So many times tried to ring 8.30,waited for 20min on hold and had to go to work. Not understand how it works. After getting so many disappointed people reviews they must think about changes in their system..
I have been with this surgery all my life. In the early days, when they only had 2 doctors, you could get an appointment within a week. Now, you are waiting 3 weeks or more for a normal appointment, most of the time you have to call at half 8 in the morning for an appointment on the day, and even then the doctor will ring you first to see if you need an appointment. They now have 5 doctors at the practice in a new building and a new telephone system (which is still busy a lot of the time). It feels like the place is over worked...and understaffed. There is good care at Eglinton... if you are lucky enough to get through on your call...and if you are lucky enough to actually get an appointment.
Has a modern telephone triage system run by the GP's themselves, which seems weird at first. I get a phone back from a doctor before 10am whenever I phone for a problem. And if after the discussion we decide that I need to be seen in the surgery, I am always seen the same day. Once I'm at the surgery, reception staff are friendly and waiting room is comfortable and well-lit. Doctors are all competent and courteous. The surgery also has a team of 3 or 4 nurses who are also very good at their stuff! Premises is very clean, bathrooms are spacious and there's ample parking spaces outside. Would fully recommend registering here as a patient!
You need to phone at half 8 to get the doctor to phone you back to decide if you need an appointment. Takes about 40 minutes if you're lucky to get through and talk to the receptionist who are never happy or polite on the call, always rude. Once you get to your appointment the doctors are always running behind schedule. If you turn up 10 mins late, the will refuse to see you however, you will be expected to wait 20mins or more longer to when your appointment was to be seen by a doctor. The doctors themselves are fine, friendly enough however, the receptionist are consistently rude.
